The ARCOS Process Improvement Project

How can you implement the infrastructure for growth in a small voluntary organisation?
ARCOS is a small organisation at present but is growing rapidly. It needed to understand its management and administrative processes in order to put in place the infrastructure for growth.
Initially, Isabel Evans analysed the management and administration processes for ARCOS and provided it with a report describing how they carried out their activities. This report also suggested process improvements. She then worked with ARCOS day to day in their offices - helping them to implement the improvements.
The trustees, director, staff and volunteers all thanked Isabel for her efforts. They described her help as "invaluable" and said that "great strides had been made" in the management and day to day running of the organisation.
Isabel Evans worked over 18 months with ARCOS the Association for Rehabilitation of Communication and Oral Skills (registered charity number 1007416), to help improve their management and administration.
The ARCOS process improvement project included implementing evaluation techniques, setting targets for growth and making improvements in the planning and implementing control processes. Rather than simply providing a consultancy report, Isabel Evans worked with ARCOS on tasks such as project evaluation, exhibition organisation and fund raising, to help ARCOS implement better methods and management in their day to day work. Additionally, Isabel provided day to day help to staff and management in the use of PC and internet technology.
Isabel's links with ARCOS have continued on an informal basis.
